  Datsville is a joint project made of virtual Lego(R) models in LDraw format. LDraw was created by James Jessiman, who also authored most of the early parts in the LDraw library. Animation was made in LDA by Tore Eriksson. converted to POV-Ray frames using L3P by Lars C. Hassing. Frames were joined into an avi file by VideoMach 5.4.0. Models are made by Joachim Probst (House on a hill), Steve Bliss (Tree #7), John VanZwieten (Town Plan), Manfred Moolhuysen (Belvedere), Brian Sauls (Car Convertible). KYMA protest the desecration of pictographs at Hueco Tanks State Historic Site and the drilling for oil in the desert region of Otera Mesa which is linked historically, culturally, environmentally, and spiritually with Hueco Tanks and the Hueco Mountains. Regions such as these are defined in the national congressional enactment the "National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended", as "cultural landscapes". "A cultural landscape is defined as: "a geographic area, including both cultural and natural resources and the wildlife or domestic animals therein, associated with a historic event, activity, or person or exhibiting other cultural or aesthetic values."   In the period from October 28 through November 25, 2000, the Netherlands Media Art Institute, Montevideo/Time Based Arts (NIM) and Axis, foundation for Art and Gender, are organizing an exhibition with artists who have been inspired by the games culture. Digital culture has restored homo ludens ('playing man') to his place of honour. Internet, cd-roms and other interactive media stimulate the user to a playful quest for information in an environment of moving animations and sound. The advance of commercial video and computer games has been characteristic of this development. The influence of games, played by young and old, is also to be found in the work of many artists. The specific culture and aesthetic of games has given rise to different (non-linear) narrative structures, visual language and animated representations. The exhibition presents artists who use elements from the world of games in very different ways in their work. Arno Coenen takes us with him to America on his Last Roadtrip. It is a hallucinatory journey through 'real-virtuality,' through the hyper-real landscapes of the 'Far West.' At the same time tasteless and colourful, the virtual camera drowns itself in the symbols of America's 'white trash,' Ronald McD., suburban paranoia and domestic violence.
